New non-native species job: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR) is looking to recruit a postdoctoral Research Fellow to undertake research and play a lead role in supporting the scientific delivery of the two Horizon Europe funded projects DAISY (DigitAl, technologIcal and Social innovation mixes enabling transformation for biodiversity and equity) and OneSTOP (OneBiosecurity Systems and Technology for People, Places and Pathways).

Both projects are highly interdisciplinary and require a candidate able to work across social and natural science related topics and with an interest in biological invasions, citizen science, stakeholder involvement, social innovation, nature-society relations and novel digital technologies.

The post holder will be required to assist with setting up and coordinating a living lab in Coventry for testing various invasive species detection and monitoring technologies. The work also involves engagement with local stakeholders and the public in citizen science projects run within the living lab and beyond by project partners across Europe.

This includes organising and facilitation of stakeholder workshops, qualitative research interviews, designing and analysing surveys exploring public awareness and attitudes towards invasive species and their management.

Further tasks include data analysis, policy and behavioural research-based intervention, writing research papers and presenting results at conferences and stakeholder events.

This post is full time fixed term for three years, starting in January 2025.

Closing date is 3 November 2024. Find out more and apply online: Research Fellow in Biodiversity and Society Job Details | coventryun.
