Asian hornet update

Update on Asian hornet (also known as yellow-legged hornet) sightings in Great Britain this year.

There have been 5 nests found this year.

  • Hastings East Sussex - 1 nest destroyed in July
  • Ramsgate, Kent - 1 nest destroyed in August
  • Lydden, Kent - 2 nests destroyed in August
  • Alkham, Kent – nest found

Surveillance is ongoing at 3 other locations in Kent and in Hastings, East Sussex, where a primary nest was found last month.
